Parks and Recreation:The 40-acre Central Park will be a few blocks from every home and business. It will be a magnet for residents and employees alike. It will feature sports courts, a walking/jogging path, an outdoor performance area and a community shared services building. And a variety of smaller neighborhood parks will create opportunities to play or relax.
Transportation: The plan includes a multimodal transportation hub, which will provide future RTD services and shuttles as well as facilities for carpools and bicycle commuters.
All homes and commercial buildings will meet high-performance standards for green building and energy efficiency, and environmentally sensitive development techniques will be employed throughout the project. In fact, the approach to sustainability at Horizon Uptown will be so advanced that it has been selected as one of very few LEED ND (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development) pilot projects. Horizon Uptown has earned the status of a LEED Certified Plan.
