City of Aurora

The City of Aurora.

The City of Aurora has just over 300,000 residents – the second-largest municipality in the Denver Metro Area. And it's growing at a healthy, but well-planned pace. Aurora’s proximity to the Denver International Airport, the transformation of Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, the growing bioscience and aerospace industries, and the construction of a new town center and government buildings are attracting more and more residents. In fact, Aurora's population is projected to grow 2.3 percent per year through 2012.

Fitzsimons Health Sciences District is undergoing a $4.3 million renovation and expansion with plans calling for up to 15 million square feet of new space dedicated to patient care, education and research.

Denver International Airport is located approximately 10 miles from Horizon along E-470. DIA is one of the busiest airports in the nation.

Buckley Air Force Base contributes an economic impact of more than $1 billion each year to Aurora and surrounding communities.
